Making Money off of Tragedy
31 December 2018
First, a really cheap production avoiding meaningful dialogue as indicated by no English subtitles. That, and actors with non-standard or 2nd language English enuciations. All made even worse by excessively loud background music meant to add drama. Especially challenging for viewers w/hearing issues. The backdrop is the Rwandan genocide w/about 500,000+ Tutsi & others killed & millions displaced by the majority Hutu. Unfortunately that tragedy was glossed over to the point of not really being shown, but what was shown was a veiled attempt to conditionally sell Christianity & Jesus' name to those in need of help. That is not kindness, that is selfishness to force people to choose between their cultural beliefs and that conditional help. Appropriately a donation request at the end.
