Arde Madrid (2018)
5/10
Técnicamente buena, pero excesivamente pretenciosa

Warning: Spoilers
What technically is a good series, with even good acting (which is not that easy to find on Spanish TV series anymore, nor even in actual movies), isn't but a silly account of more or less good jokes and topics on the Spain of the time. But there ar things I don't like at all....

1) Being filmed on black and White makes no sense at all... Well, the Spanish TV of the time was in black and white, but the moves were in color and if the director wanted to recreate an image of the time he'd better used some color that would remind of the magazines of the time, for instance.

2) The acting is excellent. The actresses are all great and, quite rare for a TV series in Spain, or even for a movie, you can understand the actors (is a shame Spanish younger actors and actresses cannot declaim). The only one i didn't like is that of the main actor and director, who always does just HIS role... the role he's ALWAYS making ALL the time. And it's not a nice role to repeat all the time.

3) Ava Gardner's life in Spain, should give tons of wonderful ideas for a TV series... sadly the director turns the whole series into a feminist allegation in the last chapter and quite wantonly. Pretty sad.
