Well Crafted
17 December 2018
Like the early Lenny Bruce, Midge ends up rocking the boat. After a meeting with a big time producer, woman who has become an adored comedian (played by Jane Lynch) agrees to let Midge front for her, but she has to meet her first. She plays a fat, frumpy housewife type, but when our girl meets her, she is a shallow, overbearing, narcissist. The problem is that Midge uses the meeting with her as comedy material and tells secrets about her, crossing a line. The producer walks out on her and blackballs her from any of the New York clubs.
