The Rockford File debut is solid. Backlash of the Hunter has a solid story. A mystery murder of why and how keeps the viewer guessing whats next. A solid beginning of a homeless murder. Great character development. A charming, hard luck, street wise James Rockford is golden. Many weird circumstance which bubble for a mystery just stands out. Jim has a memorable heavy coming down with heavy muscle for major problems. The viewer see comic smooth slick moves and Rockford streetwise logic out wits the heavy and puts together a mystery. All good great components for a successful series. The template for episode to come. 9 stars.
