Howard (Clark Gregg) is a former child actor attempting to make it back into the film industry as a child agent. Every time he gets a prodigy, another agent (Sam Rockwell) steals the kid. He has a love interest in his neighbor (Felicity Huffman) that barely plays into the film. Suddenly the golden goose is dropped in his lap. Lydia (Saxon Sharbino) is wanted for a big lead in a series of films and demands Howard be her agent. However Lydia is not without her issues one of which is her yahoo father (Gareth Williams).
The film is classified as a comedy, or dark comedy, but I didn't find myself laughing or even smiling. The irony doesn't play its way into the film until the end and at that point it was more sad than funny. I would classify the film a drama.
Don't agents sign their clients before they negotiate for them? Just a thought.
Saxon Sharbino gives us a 10 star performance. Overall film 7 stars
Parental Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.
