Episode Three: Fix

Instead of being unsettling by relying on the series haunting atmosphere as in the two previous episodes, in Fix Jean-Marc Vallée used some cheap techniques that are used in B horror movies; wannabe-creepy scattered editing, gore and blood, and so forth. For me, this was somewhat off-putting.

In terms of the main plot development, this episode doesn't move forward in any way. Instead, it keeps repeating some situations that seem to be manipulating rather than helpful.

Nevertheless, Fix developed the character of Camille, and moved ingeniously and skillfully to her past. Also, Camille's half-sister Amma reflected the awful state of mind of Wind Gap town adding another layer to her character.

The Dialogue between Camille and Detective Richard is unbelievably genius and very funny.

Needless to say, the Cinematography, and the soundtrack still winsomely hypnotic and numbing.
