Final Fantasy X is a game that is loved by many and hated by many as well. I honestly do think this was the last great final fantasy game to come out of Square before the series turned mediocre. This game has many good points and some bad points also. The first thing that makes Final fantasy X stand out where it's graphics for the time. For a 2001 Title these looked pretty darn impressive, the character models, environments and it being so colourful/sharp. The games framerate does a great job and it never crash's nor does it have any game bugs. The FMVs look top notch too. The games soundtrack is breath-taking, The sound effects sound great, the voice acting is good overall( tho there are a few moments where it's laughable) For a first attempt at voice acting for the series it could've been a lot worse. The battle system is by far my favorite of the series with it Being CTB (Conational Turn Based) rather then ATB (Active Time based). It's fasted paced, Being to change weapons/ characters in and out etc. The sphere grid was a rather different type of way of levelling up and it did seem a bit confusing to me as a kid but Once you get the hang of it it's not so bad and it becomes highly customizable by the end of the game. The games storyline is memorable, dramatic, funny, interesting and rather weird also. The characters are enjoyable and while some of them are a bit meh. A lot of them make up for it such as Auron, Jecht, Lulu, Kimeriri, Yuna etc. The main character is either a character you really love or really hate. I personally Liked the main character Tidus because I found him to be a realistic and relatable character. He also develops rather well throughout the storyline. His voice is a bit weird tho But it isn't as bad as people claimed imo. This game is also very long, finishing the main quest can take up to about 50-60 hours worth of gameplay. But doing it 100% can take around 200-300 hours which is crazy in itself. The boss fights are mostly enjoyable although the last one with yu yevon could've been a lot better. The side quests are mostly enjoyable such as monster areas, Finding collectables, Special Weapons, and Blitzball (which at first I hated because of how hard it was to understand at first but be patient with it and it becomes highly Addicting and I have always won match's even since I gave it another shot). The game is mostly linear to and This is one issue I have with the game since there's no Airship like in previous games. The game does have it's areas where you can explore but it have would've been nice to be able to do more of it. Overall Final Fantasy X is one of the best games In the series and while I don't consider it to be the best final fantasy game I do consider it a must play and a game you will have to look at with an open mind. Play it.
