Si Si Senorita!
7 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This entry in the George O'Brien RKO western series, has our hero pursuing a charming Spanish senorita.

Wade Barton (O'Brien) leads a gang of buckaroos who hire out to the highest bidder when trouble arises. Barton and his gang foil a stage holdup and he meets Senorita Anita del Campos (Lupita Tovar) with whom he is immediately smitten.

John Courtney (Leroy Mason) and the foreman of his sister's ranch Ben Wallace (William Royle) have had a phony land survey taken where the boundaries have been changed so that the bulk of the del Campo ranchero have been placed within Sandra Courtney's (Mary Field) ranch. The plan is to drive Don Aliso del Campo from his home.

But Wallace has other ideas. He plans to marry Sandra and take full control of the re-configured ranch. At a celebration at the del Campo, Wallace murders John Courtney and has the blame placed upon Don Aliso. Wade who was attending the celebration believes Don Aliso to be innocent. With the aide of his foreman Pedro (Martin Garralega) Don Aliso flees.

While Wade and his partner Monty (Slim Whitaker) search for the Don, Sheriff Warren (Bill Cody) serves an eviction notice on Anita. Wallace's men take possession of the ranchero. Meanwhile, Barton finds the Don and they plan to re-take the ranchero. Barton manages to trick Wallace's partner Rance Wallace (Glenn Strange) into fingering Wallace as the real killer. Barton also convinces Wallace that Potter is out to get him. Wallace and Potter discover that they have been had and......................................................

O'Brien's role as a leader of a group of gunmen for hire is unusual. He states that he is for hire to the highest bidder no matter which side he or she is on. Does this mean that our George would stray to the wrong side of the law? Hmmmmmm.

As is the case with many entries in the series, RKO provides plenty of extras (unusual for a "B" western) for the chase and attack sequences but who's complaining? Lots of action and shoot-em ups in this one. O'Brien even gets to battle a whole saloon full of hombres.

Future star Ben Johnson who was doing stunt work on the film, has a" blink and or you'll miss him" role as a barfly who gets into the brawl previously mentioned. Also appearing are familiar faces Chris Pin-Martin (sans mustache), Hank Bell (with mustache) and Forrest Taylor.

And hey....what happened to Chill Wills?
