As a Chinese, reviewing a Russia film on a US web site is interesting. Only these three country have manned spaceflight technology. Comparing "Salyut-7" with "Gravity" or "Interstellar" or "The Martian" is not fair, but "Apollo 13" is Comparable, they're almost as good. In history, the fire in spaceship didn't happen, two astronauts didn't hammer any sensors, and they didn't smoke or drink vodka in space(I guess?), but the manual docking, the power out and many successful repairs are real. What a miracle! the docking, the flouting toy bear and the cockroach are my favorite scene. Buttons, circuit, dashboards, water drops, weightlessness, all those details are exquisite. Switch of space and earth scene are appropriate, which make sure a good pushing of the plot. Two wife characters are important, their acting are impressive too. One of these two astronauts said their colleagues and leaders were not such impulsive or cold-blooded as the movie shows. In my opinion, the director maybe want to express that the Cold War and long time ideological opposition caused over-intension and some lack of humanity, both in Russia and America. The cold war ended over 26 years, America still regards Russia as an enemy. Blocking, sanctioning, containing, economic, military, culture, but Russia still hold on there, no winner at last. Our planet is as small as dust in universe, even a nuclear war on earth won't change anything on moon, we human should be explorer, we born to be explorer, Aerospace Technology represents this romantic and lofty ideal of human being, why can't we just put ideology aside and work together for our common good?
