Middling!

Warning: Spoilers
As a bonus on the Tom Mix feature, In the Days of the Thundering Herd (1914) - a very poor print - Alpha offer a Will Rogers short, Going to Congress (1924). What we have here is the beginning of a trilogy of shorts (which explains the rather up-in-the-air conclusion).

In the next short, Our Congressman (1924), the Alfalfa Doolittle character, doubtless wrestles with Congress, and in the final short, A Truthful Liar, we find him as an ambassador - a role Rogers was to assume again in Ambassador Bill (1931).

As for our Going to Congress, the visual humor is reasonably entertaining if rather obvious. Many of the jokes, however, are delivered via the title cards. Bereft of his voice, Rogers is at best only half the man of Ambassador Bill. The visual quality of the short is also middling.
