Will clearly has a symbiotic relationship with the shadow monster, suffering ill effects as a result. Max opens up to Lucas about her past. And Dr. Owens' men explore the subterranean tunnels.
Lots more going on in episode six, with just as many unanswered questions to ensure that you keep on coming back for more. The quieter, relationship-driven drama is, as always, handled very well, but for me the highlights of this chapter are the exciting showdown against the demogorgons (yes, plural!) at the junkyard, and the finale, in which Owens' men are attacked by the creatures as the doctor helplessly monitors their deaths on a screen (a scene reminiscent of the xenos attacking the marines in Aliens; Paul Reiser must have felt right at home).
