The Good Place: Everything Is Fine (2016)
Season 1, Episode 1
6/10

Warning: Spoilers
Eleanor (Kirsten Bell) died in what was a bizarre shopping trolley accident and arrived in the afterlife at the good place, which is highly selective.

She meets Michael (Ted Danson) who explains the concept of 'the good place' to her and neighbourhood that will be her home. She meets her soulmate Chidi (William Jackson Harper) and she confesses to him that there has been a mistake.

Eleanor is not human rights lawyer who saved people from death row but sold shonky medicine to old people rather successfully.

From the first episode it looks like a fantasy based sitcom very much in the fashion of Bewitched or I dream of Jeannie but updated with some bad language which is censored because it is not allowed in the good place.

I think Danson and Bell sell the concept well, the production design is rather nice and I like the idea that all the religions got about 5% of it right.

I am not sure from the pilot that this could be a long running show with Eleanor trying to hold back that she does not belong in this place.
