Trailblazers (2016– )
1/10
Overly dramatic and silly

I'm struggling to write this review because I don't know what to begin criticizing first. The show will try to convince you that your best guide into a remote area is someone who has never been there before, as long as they have military training! Why take a guide with climbing or mountaineering experience, when you can take a navy seal! But there's more! How remote are these areas really? Take for example the El Reventador episode; there is a hostel at the bottom of the volcano and a hiking trail that takes you half way up. There is detailed route information on how to get to hike to the cone in six hours that anyone can google, yet this show will try to convince you that these guys are "trail blazers." Camera crew seems to be above the "expert" guides in the most difficult of places, as the guides proclaim to be the first to reach these spots. Camera is constantly shaken, rocks thrown down and angles distorted to make it seems like these guys are constantly in danger. If there are people are watching these episodes from start to finish, they've certainly accomplished something more challenging than these "trailblazers."
