Columbo: Murder with Too Many Notes (2001)
Season 10, Episode 13
7/10
Running Out Of Gas
4 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I always like Columbo but is this the strongest episode in the series? Definitely not, in fact Columbo strikes several sour notes here. Lullaby Music often is referenced after the victim dies in a tragic fall.

Columbo gets his hooks into a Composer who he suspects helped the victim fall. Then he gets involved looking at small clues like dress shoes, and keys and photos. Then all of a sudden we find that he has sneakers, not shoes in the photo of the victim and the accused composer in the photo.

How this leads Columbo to the murderer does not matter as when he discovers this he is already got his man going nuts. There are music studios, movie sets, and all kinds of little things that Columbo makes his series of mysteries on. Of course we all know from the beginning the murderer so where does the fun lead?

Columbo gets the murderer to think he is out of gas. Columbo never runs out of gas.
