"Dirty" Joe D'Amato is the Italian director behind this pornographic reworking of the Tarzan story. He had already made TARZAN-X: SHAME OF JANE a couple of years previously so QUEEN OF THE ELEPHANTS must have been a no-brainer. The main character is called Esther and simply a gender-swamp version of the King of the Jungle, introduced in some mildly impressive scenes in which she rides around on elephants.
Esther's curiosity gets the better of her when she meets up with an exploratory expedition and is soon whisked off back to Scotland, where she struggles to integrate with polite society. All of this is mere backdrop, of course, because D'Amato's lens is purely on the sex, and there's plenty of it staged at five minute intervals. Gabriella Vincze is the main performer and quite convincing as the wild woman, while a bunch of the usual Italian studs supply the partners. It's cheap and mildly effective if you're a porn fan.
