The Flash: Attack on Central City (2017)
Season 3, Episode 14
Gorilla Invasion
1 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Once again, the episode 13 & 14 two-parter manages to become one of my favourite parts of the season. First season it was Firestorm, second season it was Earth-2 and now it has been Grodd.

As I would have thought with this episode it starts off with the characters interacting with each other and then slowly builds up to a fight at the end. Given this it felt a little tedious knowing that all the effort put to stopping Grodd from entering the city would eventually fail. So to save us from getting bored we have fun moments with H.R., Harry and Cisco. These three consistently get a laugh out of me. However, Harry was a little too angry this episode, too many remarks of how stupid H.R. is. Anyway, it's nice to have Harry back, the serious Wells who provides actual help.

Barry and Iris was good this episode. I'm not overly into the romance in the Arrowverse shows but they've convinced me this season and has given it a better purpose within the story. Saving Iris is the mission and so far nothing has improved her chances of surviving. Which results in Barry suggesting that he should kill Grodd to stop this once and for all and just maybe that will change the future. I was actually a bit concerned for a few minutes when he suggested it. I don't want to see Grodd die but they have mentioned that there is a Grodd on Earth-19 and this show has replaced villains before (Weather Wizard, Killer Frost). Barry going dark now that the future is soon to be the present is not something I would want but I can understand why they'd hint at that outcome.

Grodd was great in this episode. The CGI gorilla army looked great. In my review for the previous episode I wrote that I wanted them to get Solovar to help fight Grodd. That's exactly what we got! I'm so glad we got that, it was awesome to watch and hopefully we will meet Solovar again in a future season. Now that ARGUS has Grodd, is there any chance we could see a Grodd/King Shark team-up? That would be the dream. Or Grodd escapes and ARGUS sends out King Shark to take him down, that would be even better.

Can't forget to mention that we got a short moment with Earth-19's Flash AKA the Accelerated Man. I hope we get to see him in an upcoming episode, his purple lightning was cool. Wonder if that makes him faster than Barry or if he got the powers in a different way or they just wanted him to seem more special.

At the end we got a tease of Savitar, finally he's coming back. He's the main villain but he has only showed up in three episodes. Hopefully they'll build up his character more.

All in all, this was a fantastic episode, Grodd vs. Solovar was exactly what I wanted, it was awesome and now Savitar's back in the game!
