1 Night (I) (2016)

A love story for all ages
14 February 2017
For me, Valentine's season is a time to celebrate not only with the person who shares a piece of your heart, but also with some of the cinematic world's best romantic films. In that spirit, I went and saw this new Indie Romance 1 Night, and must say that I was not even slightly disappointed. The entire movie takes place at a hotel in the heart of Los Angeles, where we're introduced to two couples (who up until this moment are unfamiliar with one another) that are searching for the same thing: Love. Director Minhal Baig does a fantastic job at getting her cinematographers to capture the highs and lows of these two similar relationships, making it very easy for the movie's audience to discover ways in which we can all relate. Two stars—Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Justin Chatwin (Shameless)—light the way for their younger cast-mates—Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan) and Kyle Allen (The Path)—to deliver a story that teaches us that no matter how bad our relationship status may seem in the moment, there's never a wrong time to show the one we care about the most how much we love them.
