The darker side of the good guys
9 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Plot; Kanan, Ezra and Saw find what might be the last Geonosian alive in the universe.

This second of a two-parter peels back the layers on Saw Gerrera a bit and gives us a peek inside the more extreme face of the Rebellion. This kind of exploration, the dirtier side of the Alliance, has been an interesting and refreshing aspect of both Rebels and the expanded universe (in books such as Battlefront: Twilight Company and Lost Stars). The Original Trilogy presents the Rebels as gung-ho do-gooders who eat their veggies and do their chores; and that's fine. It fits the tone of the stories being told. But the expanded universe is supposed to shine a light into the darker corners of the Star Wars universe, and that's what we get here.

I can't say that the story itself is anything great, but the execution is pretty good, and the mature tone is a welcome return to form.
