Jack Reed: One of Our Own (1995 TV Movie)
6/10
Solid thrills and humour from the Jack Reed stable

Warning: Spoilers
ONE OF OUR OWN is another in the string of JACK REED TV cop movies made in the 1990s. This one sees Brian Dennehy giving a good turn as the dedicated hero, gunning for the bad guys who are responsible for the death of his youthful partner. The plot sees a young woman left for dead in a shocking shotgun attack, only to survive and be taken in by Dennehy and his family while he searches for the perpetrators.

ONE OF OUR OWN doesn't have a great deal of mystery content but it keeps you watching regardless with a mix of mystery and comedy. The humour from Dennehy's family members is really growing on me as are the characters, and Charles S. Dutton is a quiet delight too. The more violent aspects of the story are handled well and if the chief villains are a bit lacklustre, Dennehy's larger-than-life lead more than makes up for them.
