Review of Six

Six (2017–2018)
6/10
An overall disappointment with sparks of life.

With the heavy hype surrounding this new mini-series, I was very excited with what this production could be. Especially with how well History had been handling it's recent history based shows. Unfortunately, this show was nothing but smoke and mirrors. While the action sequences in the show are a bit more impressive than the average gun fights you see on TV, the rest of the show suffers severely.

The writing is atrocious and the actors, some of which have very good credentials, seem as if they don't believe in their own lines. Combined with a rushed background story for everyone that fails to offer enough exposition, the show was a mess from start to finish.

The primary antagonist's motivation is one of the most cliché to be found and the rest of the characters that make up the team are also each their own cookie cutter stereotype. The only thing that led me to finish the show was the desire to see if it got better, but the ending just left me a sour taste in my mouth.

In the end, I will watch episode two and see how it goes, but as of right now this is a show that I cannot recommend to most people.
