It took until its third series but this was the first 'My Family' Christmas special, and unlike many of the ones that followed, this one actually was.
The reason for this is that very simple you have a good story being told - Janey's pregnant, Nick's causing chaos - and because the characters at this point are clear and well written, we as an audience go along with it. This was 'My Family' at it's best.
There are so many lovely moments in this episode, and yet it is only a half hour show. A person favourite for me though is the scene between Ben and Nick regarding the drive through Santa's grotto.
