Review of Sing

Sing (2016)
Pass.

If this wins anything for 'best animated feature' I will be livid. "But it has a good message." This movie, along with Collateral Beauty entices the viewer with the theme of naivety and simplistic realizations of inner possibility. We all face our hurdles and discover confidence in our life journey's. If your looking for optimistic life in the upbringing of sizzling positively while seeping in inner doubt, these kind of movies provide a place in the cinema to colour our hearts with enlightenment in a manner of unravelling perception of lightening our views during tough times in reality. But Sing along with Collateral Beauty entice subjects to help dumb ourselves down to not look too deeply into things and face life with singular understandings. There is nothing wrong with this, but it is pushed on the audience like some preachy "I know something you don't" attitude. There is a fine line between confidence and cockiness and understanding with confidence comes discipline and with cockiness comes arrogance. This movie, Sing along with Collateral Beauty and a few others I have seen in this genre conquer the latter, unfortunately.
