73rd Golden Globe Awards (2016 TV Special)

Now that I've had a little time to think about it . . .

. . . it seems to me that there's not very much predictive value to the Golden Globe Film Categories as far as correlating with the awarding of the REAL movie prizes--the Golden Oscars--a few weeks later. This year, in fact, the Golden Globes tea leaves were on a par with the accuracy level of all the Polls & Pundits predicting WHOSE moving van would be pulling up to that Moldy White Castle at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. after the U.S. Presidential Election (or not, as Leader Trump says his latest actress\Apprentice First Lady and the rest of the clan prefer the Golden Thrones--that is, toilet seats--in his Manhattan Tower). On a similar note, I'm shocked that none of the movie stars "winning" Globes did not throw these tacky, fragile-looking awards back into host Ricky Gervais' face, since they were now jinxed to lose the coveted Real Prize, the Oscar. With SPOTLIGHT and WHIPLASH mopping up most of the available 2016 Golden Statuettes on Movies' Big Night this year (after being shut out at the Globes), it's surprising that so many luminaries are willing to "go slumming" with the "foreign press" at the Globes, rubbing shoulders with TV people (or worse) while awaiting the results of the Globes' Rigged Election. If there's one thing you can take to the bank, it's that Leader Trump will NEVER allow these Globessodark shenanigans to persist into 2018!
