Review of Blood Ties

Diagnosis Murder: Blood Ties (1999)
Season 6, Episode 21
1/10
Bad, awful, horrible, terrible, . . .

Warning: Spoilers
Apparently this episode was run as a internal pilot to see if any one would find the concept appealing. This was after Cagney and Lacy had their run and well before Rizzoli and Isles but those shows had something: chemistry. Here we have Det. Amy Devlin (Kathy Evison) and Police Detective Taylor Lucas (Zoe McLellan) as two crazy female cops looking for other cops who are killing perps. They drive like characters from the Dukes of Hazard but The General Lee would be too slow for them. Because they need to find a dirty doctor, Taylor shoots herself in the arm because her partner objects to being shot. And that's the highlight of the story. Turns out the bad cops are four evil Charlie's Angels who are trying to get needed organs for worthy patients like Amy's father. Thank god no network picked up on this pair, and they got a deserved fade away.
