The Stranger (1967)

Warning: Spoilers
This is absolutely illogical movie. On a hot day the hero comes home. Instead of washing his face and drinking some bear, he goes on the beach and walks under hot sun almost falling unconscious. And, of course, he meets an Arab who attacks him with a knife. The hero shoots and kills the attacker. And then in the court hearings there's not a single word about self defense? During most of the film nothing happens. Probably Luchino Visconty wanted the viewers to listen for one hour and a half for senseless dialogues just for the final scene, in which the hero proclaims that life is full of filth, the people are garbage, and there's no hope. The famous director could tell all this in a short film. And spare us from listening to a shallow Camus philosophy and watching empty episodes for 104 minutes.
