The epitome of German Klamauk

Warning: Spoilers
"Sunshine Reggae auf Ibiza" or "Sunshine Reggae on Ibiza" is a West German 80-minute film from 1983, so this one is already over 30 years old. If you read the names of director Franz Marischka and writer Erich Tomek, then you ma already know what to expect if you know a bit about German cinema. It's trash film. It's comedy mixed with (not too much really, we only see breasts) erotic aspects and these films are usually much louder and much more annoying than really entertaining and the attempts to be funny come off as fairly desperate. This is also partially true here. One of the main characters is played by Karl Dall and he did not try to display great range here, but just gave the film his usual approach at comedy. And this was probably the best he could have done as his portrayal indeed put a smile on my face occasionally and he was easily the best thing about this film. All other characters and performances are entirely generic and absolutely not memorable. I dare even say that they made a pretty bad script look even weaker. In terms of Ibiza or Frisia, which is mentioned at the very beginning and end, it is not worth watching for the landscapes either. It's very forgettable. The music is still one of the better aspects here, but not because it's great or so, but just because it does not suck as almost everything else about this film. Worth a watch for fans of Karl Dall, but everybody else should skip it. I personally am glad it was over way before the 90-minute mark.
