I'm all in favour of a return to the 70's sitcom. Its gentle, affectionate take on our fallibilities coupled with the characters resolve and determination to do their best in the face of odds against, is no better exemplified than in Dads Army.
I thoroughly enjoyed this film and felt had we been given longer (100 min wasn't enough, not enough back story development) the actors would have been able to fully explore their characters and the rapport would have developed further. The cast are all heavyweight thesps, with big boots to fill (with respect to the original cast of the TV series), but I would love to see them re-making the TV series (never thought I would say that.
