Transformers Exodus
11 December 2015
Yeah I'm a Transformers fan, and I've played the first game and I'm proud to say a bolt of energon stuck twice, which also makes these licensed Transformers games an official as well as memorable franchise, which is something that doesn't happen often with most licensed video games.

As much as I liked the first game, I really liked this second one a bit more because there were some slight improvements. I really love the graphical presentation which looks even better than the first game, from the details of Cybertron but most importantly the character models. The color, physical features, to even some show of some wear on both Autobots and Decpetcons like seeing the paint on a few of them looking a bit faded; which I like because it gives the robots a slightly grounded sensibility. Also looking at them once again I can't help but wonder why the heck couldn't the robots in the Live Action films look as good as this. Music is great there is a memorable tune or two.

The voice acting as usual is spot on from Peter Cullen whom as usual is excellent as Optimus Prime. Steven Blum is excellent as Shock Wave has that chilling cold calculating voice, to me Shock Wave was always like a evil Vulcan; though he didn't do the voice of Starscream in this game which I thought was too bad since he did it in the "Transformers Prime" TV show but oh well. Nolan North is solid as Cliffjumper and on further note he also voice acted for "Transformers Prime" as Autobot Sideswipe. Troy Baker was fantastic as Jazz, that voice was just so spot on he really did sound like Scatman Curuthers. And the rest were great too, did like the actors that voice Megatron and Starscream they really sounded like Frank Welker and Chris Latta though they weren't.

The story I thought was great, once again it's a mystery it's a different kinda of intrigue because we already know the ending but the question is about the how. We see a little more of the last days of the war on Cybertron. How much damage the Decepticons dealt to put both the Autobots and the planet in the bad state it's in. And what the Autobots had to do to get their long mission started.

But most important is the game play which I thought was excellent. I like that you get to switch hands for your weapons, which really works to your advantage as you can utilize your positioning of fire much better. There is still the RPG like element where primary and heavy weapon you hold you can upgrade. And like in the first game you get in sections to play on both teams as different Autobots and Decepticons.

However one thing that really stands out and I feel slightly improves on the original game is each of the chapters that you play though are truly a different challenge, and in each of these challenge you get to utilize the assigned abilities of each of the characters. Which to me keep the game fresh and really causes you to adapt to the situations as well as utilize different tactics to win.

Overall, if your a Transformers fan or rookie to the franchise. Or even just a gamer looking for a really good licensed video game then this is the game worth rolling toward. This game has enough energon and ammo for fun.
