to the anime, the story is an unknown fleet from the deepest depths of the ocean mankind called them abyssal, the abyssal drove mankind out of the seas, destroying all of our ships and so the fleet girls where made to fight the abyssal, the fleet girls posses the souls of past ww2 Japanese war ships from destroyers to Standard Carriers.
OK characters, a ship new call Fubuki who is a destroyer arrives at the naval district to fight and she joins torpedo squadron three and meets Mutsuki and Yuudachi who will soon be her friends, she also wants to fight along side Akagi from carrier group one, in all honesty the characters are kind of boring and they don't have much of a story to tell but they are still likable, one of my favorite characters is the battleship Kongou because shes funny always try's to see the better side of the situation, specking of her she has 4 sisters and has a thing for the admiral, fubuki is trying to be two things at once, one of them is the person that wins people over with herd work and guts and the other is the chosen one who the admiral wants to marry.
i'm not going to do all the characters because theirs so many but a lot of then are point less they have one or two gimmicks.
next is animation, it does the job, the 3D characters on 2D back grounds you do notice it but it saves money and no bought that they don't have a big budget and the water looks like s**t.
the voice acting is OK but could be better at the time of writing there is no dub and i don't think there will be.
this show's the name "Kantai collection" what the f**k is that i can think of one right now "fleet girls" or "ship girls" or something other than "kantai collection".some of girls/ships are kind of lesbian's and there sisters as well what the f**k.
well if you liked strike witches you'll like this cause its just strike witches on ships.
go watch this you wont regret it, it left me in the void and wanting more and the second season isn't out till 2016 there will also be a movie coming out next year as well.
