I watched this movie because I was looking for movies similar to Tucker and Dale vs Evil and Housebound, both of which I'd rate an 8/10, loved those movies and their black humor. So I saw this was recommended by people who liked those. Boy are they crazy.
This movie is painfully slow. Very boring, the first 20 minutes are a snoozefest. Once the characters get kidnapped, you'd think the pace would pick up, nope. They slowly start showing more gore, but that doesn't save the movie.
The characters are boring which is what kills the movie. It's based around the drama of the characters and their history together, cheating with one another, proposing, and all that drama. It totally doesn't work.
The saving grace is the mild humor from one of the characters who takes 'acid' which gives some decent comedic moments. But certainly not enough to carry the movie.
Avoid this movie, the 5.7 rating is generous, (and that's not even high, when the average on IMDb is 7.0).
