The very first in a long, long run for Disney...
21 December 2014
This is the pilot episode for "The Wonderful World of Disney"--re- dubbed "The Wonderful World of Color" after it was decided to broadcast. And, because it's the first episode, it consists of a bunch of clips showing the wide variety of shows they'll be broadcasting in the series as well as clips of Disneyland. It's all pretty much a promotional piece meant to advertise the park as well as upcoming releases, such as "Alice in Wonderland". During the show you'll see Davy Crockett and his friends sing his theme song, a clip from "Song of the South", footage of Disneyland, a clip from "Fantasia" ("The Sorcerer's Apprentice"), a complete cartoon ("Lonesome Ghosts") and some footage of what it would be like to go to outer space. All in all, it's an entertaining but strange hodgepodge of material--worth seeing mostly because of its historical value.
