The story's basic concept of a movie about a book club is the first thing that took my interest. I haven't read any Jane Austen yet, although I've heard some things about Sense and Sensibility and about Pride and Prejudice. I really like how the screenplay weaves all those things in the lives of the book club members in resemblance or just pure reliving of the books. Also I like how the movie suggests through the story that Jane Austen isn't only limited to the female readers, and in fact can be useful in respect of viewing what's happening in one's life. I like Hugh Dancy's performance here. He can get good acting to balance to strong female presence throughout the main story. From the female cast, Maria Bello did great to have her balanced portion stand out among the other women. Emily Blunt did quite okay in depicting the insecure woman.
