8/10
Not as amazing as the first, but still pretty amazing!

Warning: Spoilers
In the second instalment in the series we're back in the cabin in the woods with our main character Ash. After a brief introduction (it's not really an introduction. It's more of a short remake of the first movie, because most of the characters are missing) of what happened in the first movie we see Ash go back to his normal human state, but given the fact that the bridge to safety has collapsed he has to find a way to escape his undead girlfriend and all the other demonic creatures lurking in the forest.

Evil Dead 2 is a great sequel and a great addition to the franchise. The story might even be better than the first one. We get more explanation on the reasons why all these strange things are happening whenever someone reads from the flesh-cover book. This adds more meaning to the series as whole, because things just happened in the first movie. There was no explanation why that book was in the basement;why people go mad when they read from it;why the forest was possessed. Most of those questions get answered in the second movie. It's good to have an origin story and with the second one that's what we get. It's good to point out that humour has a much bigger part in this, than in the first movie. It works much better as well.

The acting, music and cinematography are all top-notch, as they were in the original. Those swooping forest shots make an appearance again, but they look much sleeker and better made.

The movie has a lot of high points, but the special effects are right at the top. They're the main thing that has been improved from the first. The make up is a touch more realistic too, which adds to the intensity and the realistic aspect of the movie.

The only bad thing I can think of is that it slows down around the beginning of the second half. Even though not as good as the first, the movie is a success and a must-see for all horror fans.

Acting - 9/10 Cinematography - 10/10 Idea - 7/10 Joy - 8/10 Music - 8/10 Script - 9/10 Special Effects - 8/10 Overall Rating - 8/10

Just as a last note, except a lot of weird things to happen in this movie. Very funny, but A class weird. Look forward to a scene with a stuffed deer in particular.

P.S.This is my first review guys, so please be gentle. I hope I improve over time. My writing must be the most robotic thing anyone has ever read. I love watching films and wanted to be a part of the reviewing experience. Let's just hope I get better over time.
