A Story Of Brotherhood
4 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is about friendship and the enduring ties of brotherhood that remain the top priority of the club. The Sons move their clubhouse to the Ice-cream shop which is kind of hilarious. Three new members are accepted and Ratboy are voted in. An old friend Venus Van Damme needs their help and the MC assists in rather spectacular if not violent fashion. The Sons continue to try and free themselves from guns and Jackson (club president) fails to see the personal crisis unfolding in his own life. Tara's heinous plan is now revealed. In a rather melodramatic move she bates Gemma and then accuses Gemma of hitting her in the stomach and causing a miscarriage (Tara had a litre of her blood on standby in order to make the stunt a little more realistic). It is very dramatic episode and stretches the thread of believability to the complete limit. But I think we can forgive Kurt Sutter for the elaborateness of Tara's plan. It does give an awful lot of story fodder in the aftermath even if it goes a tiny bit Bold and Beautiful for a moment. My favourite moment? Ratboy's induction. It is sweet, well-acted (Niko Nictera proves that you don't need a big role to create great drama) and reminds us of what the Sons stand for. Whilst this episode wasn't overly believable it was great drama and great entertainment. I loved it…..as always.
