Rushlights (2013)
3/10
Welcome to Tremo, Texas
16 August 2013
I rented Rushlights because I'm a big fan of Josh Henderson and the new Dallas series. After seeing it all I can say is I'm glad he's got the gig in Dallas because his career might be toast after this one got inflicted on the movie-going public. It also didn't do the careers of the established Beau Bridges and Aidan Quinn who play a pair of brothers a sheriff and a lawyer respectively in the quaint Texas town of Tremo.

A mutual friend of their's overdosed on some drugs, but in searching her Henderson's girlfriend found a letter saying she's the heir to a fortune down in good old Tremo, a good old boys town if there ever was one.

They decide to have the girlfriend Haley Webb pose as the deceased heiress figuring they'd collect the money and scoot. But of course it doesn't work out that way, especially after the late millionaire is discovered to have been murdered.

There's quite a few more complications and maybe had the film had better direction it might have been enjoyable. But it moves at such a sluggish pace that every twist of the plot just slows it down.

Rushlights was not a good career move for anyone involved.
