Thought provoking Chomsky, poorly made documentary

Warning: Spoilers
Calling 'Manufacturing Consent- Noam Chomsky and the media' merely though provoking is a crime itself. Noam Chomsky has shaken the roots of US and global political systems and through his radical thinking. Over the years he has been criticized as well as celebrated by different groups and sects. 'Manufacturing Consent' to some extent describes Chomsky's works but to me it fails to engage and captivate its viewer a good documentary should do. It will be unjustified to comment on Chomsky's theories and ideology in IMDb, but it can be said that his concepts shocked the contemporary world and hold true till this date. As the documentary explains several incidents over the years Chomsky has used to illustrate how the US 'democracy' is using propaganda to influence the common people, which is actually being controlled by the elite 20% people, the current world similarly shows similar attempts despite it is tougher now in the age of internet. The post 'Arab Spring' situation in countries like Libya is being overlooked, while the Sri-Lankan government is being condemned for repelling its terrorist threats, at a time when unmanned drones are killing civilians in Pakistan. All these instances are very similar to how the US media treated Cambodia and East Timor during the atrocities committed against people in mid-20th century proving Chomsky's views as valid till today. However, if we look at the documentary itself, as a common audience I was extremely irritated by its poor editing and lack of narration. I assume there was sufficient technology during the making period to properly place the old and new footages and a proper narration, may be by Chomsky himself would probably do justice to the time a non- associated (or general) viewer would be investing. One can argue on the subject matter which does not require proper movie making skills, however, I believe when Chomsky was writing his books he must have followed a proper literary guidance and did not just randomly put on his quotes and ideas all over them.
