This episode deals with a subject not usually seen on television, let alone on a sitcom catering to the family crowd. It has to do with the way Claire begins acting weird, which Phil tells his son is a symptom of a female cycle. To Luke's surprise, it is not only his mother, but his sisters Haley and Alex are afflicted by the same malady, which obviously he cannot fathom, let alone comprehend.

Mitchell is preparing a big party for his partner Cameron. He has hired a party planner that is going to do a celebration on the theme of the ever so gay theme of "The Wizard of Oz". The plans are halted after Cam informs Mitch about the destruction by a tornado of parts of his home town area in Illinois. So everything must be changed in just moments.

Gail Mancuso directed this chapter which was written by Danny Zuker. The other main theme that is developed in the program is how some of us cringe at the mere idea of growing old, which is a fact of life, but few like to deal with it in a mature way. That is basically what is keeping Cam so on edge; he thinks he is really 10, but in reality he is celebrating his 40th birthday!
