This one was just as good as the first one.It does have the subtle messages of national socialism. A single woman must get married to be a heterosexuals. This is one of them. But there's a hypocrisy here. Women as trainees for pilots. The Nazi dictatorship were opposes to womens rights. Unless you were a successful film star or producer or a film maker then you were removed from the list. This is why they never touched lesbians except for those who worked against them.Louise Brody plays the medicine man. He was the only top black German character actor in the history of the German film industry, equal to Hattie McDaniel in the democratic united states not so at that time and not still,until his death in 1952, He was the only black German actor that had a job during the regime in the white controlled industry to have good character roles considering the time.But there a strange problem . After everyone has been crashed you see Bruni Lobel is with Beppo Bren when they are in Afrika . You see them take off from the woods. But in the end, when she marries, she not with Beppo Bren. She's with the students or pilot instructor who won the flight contest. And when they all rescue Hertha and Heinz all of a sudden Karin Himbolt coming with the rescue crew, Her hair a little long and she dyed it a stronger shade. Was this film incomplete before the war? or did they have to delay the last scenes shot before Hitler fell?. It looks like it was shot many weeks or month later.Looks like Bepp was not available for the last scenes. Hertha kept her looks. Aren't they suppose to have the photographs of how they look so they won't forget?Heinz Ruehmann , in a humor fashion. now a head pilot trainer of the school acts like Hitler. But the crew hates it. Hansen fuses at him still when he does a slightly dangerous stunt in the beginning. It sound like the argument Goebells and Hitler would have. To top it you now have women who want to be pilots Hertha Feiller and Bruni Lobel. Heinz Girl friend Karin, now is a secretary and goes to work for Hienz. There's a women who shows up at the school, whom at first I thought was Hertha but it was another women , who shows up at the school and talks to Hansen. She disappear from the film. The crew cleaning the plain starts singing again. Luts Gotz, The red headed actor who darkened his hair to get more acting jobs who was in the Fruit bowl as a teacher, is now part of the staff at this sneaky Nazi school of flying. Even Ruhmann teaches Karen how to fly and it annoys her. There's this big fly around Europe contest that the school participates in. Then all of a sudden Ruhmann and Beppo crashes followed By Bruni and Hertha and I think another crew ,if I remember. Well the other plane is fixed so that they can get help and finish the contest. It's Gilligans Island when Hertha Heinz , already in love, sees the African tribe headed by Lewis Brody shows up and all of a sudden Hertha can speak African.They think they are gods and the big chief wants Hienz to marry his daughter portrayed by Daisy Johnson another German black actress, He goes along with it. Well they have a celebration at night for the gods visit.you have topless women jiggling galore.The medicine man tries to make a pass a t Hertha and she turns him down. the medicine man gets mad and threatens him and Hertha with snakes. It looks like a suggestive three way with Hertha and Daisey, Hertha and Ruhmann wakes up together. Did they do it? You do see Daisy in a separate quarters.Well the tribes man want to see them fly or else so they fix the plane as Hertha and Daisey push Ruhman like a kite to get it glide. But he ends up crashing on a tree. All of a sudden the professional plane men fly past them scaring them away from Ruhmann. He gets down.Another Gilligan's Island concept. Heinz creates a a radio very quickly out of nothing, so he and Hertha can hear the contest. Their team wins. This was a good digital transfer on D.V.D now in the united states at German war film dot com and I think German video dot net 05/29/11 Oops! made a mistake women flight student ,played by Bruni Lobi,does become interested in the man student who eventually wins the contest for the flight school.Looking at the ending the second time it does look about the same year the film was made.
