Warning: Spoilers
When you're going to do a movie which has potentially "controversial" content, you need to make sure that you bring your A-game because people will judge the movie very harshly based on the content. Sadly, Come and Get Me does not bring its A-game. The script is bad, the post-production is bad, and, oh yeah, the storyline is also bad.

The action fails to cause any excitement, and the characters are paper-thin. Scores no points for originality, wit, or intelligence.

The writing is where this film really fell flat. None of the characters had defined personalities, and given the threadbare plot, there were too many faces in this film. I didn't feel a connection to any of the characters (I liked to watch some of them and would love to see some of the actors in other movies, but I wasn't invested). Overall, Come and Get Me struggles because the poorly written script is one of the worst pieces in this puzzle instead of acting as the fundamental structure propping the film up. Some very amateur mistakes have clearly been made in the post-production process - the picture and sound could have been partially salvaged by a decent editor and sound-person.

The usual suspects among audiences will respond, but there's little beyond the usual ingredients to tempt the more discriminating. When torture porn becomes as snooze-inducing as lecture hall, it's time to call it a day.
