An okay film with some interesting acting and ideas

This is a cheap but fun spin off from the Merlin/Arthur story. For once the Merlin character is played as a Welshman (and a crazy south Walian who really has been at the mushrooms). I liked that part of the show, Merlin's accent was actually pretty good and didn't wobbly as other reviewers stated, it's just an accent they are unfamiliar with. Strange that playing a Welsh god and legend with a Welsh accent should cause confusion.

The whole story is weak but not something to be surprised at, this is great for kids or if you really have little else to do. Not an Oscar winner but a bit of fun with some interesting parts (mainly a very Welsh Merlin), the rest feels like an OK Saturday afternoon role playing game rewritten for TV.

Merlin must be from North Wales is one comment by another reviewer? Why? Arthur was from what became England. What accent would an English (language that didn't exist at the time) speaking Briton use? Given that Gower was called the land of Merlin I am not sure why he wouldn't have a south Walian accent. It's a movie. It is about magic. It is not historically accurate. At least the Welsh accent is possible.
