I've always liked DVD flashbacks and this episode is a particularly good one. Rob & Laura tell how they almost got divorced in the first months of their marriage--it shows that Rob & Laura had their share of rocky times. The flashback begins in Anchor, Texas--great name. They escape to a hotel in Mexico--to find an air-conditioned lobby and a charming desk clerk who says he's so close to the border, that he's not always sure which language he's speaking--(as he talks, he asks Rob & Laura 'what's this?' and Rob says 'English'.) There's a great mariachi trio with a sultry seductress, Rob's army buddies, a Mexican lawyer played by Bernie (Siegfried) Kopell of 'Get Smart'fame. Whenever the Dick Van Show did a flashback, the sets were never too elaborate, but the good writing made good sets unnecessary.
