Having been part of the Call of Duty games since the very first Call of Duty, which was a big disappointment, I was excited to see whether the franchise could grow or then just remain as a plateau with no improvements. I was disappointed again with Call of Duty 2 and 3 which I just felt were not the standard of first person shooter gaming. However, things completely changed with Call of Duty Modern Warfare, which pushed the limits of first person shooter gaming to new heights, which only the Call of Duty franchise has been able to maintain and expand since then. Combining the most realistic first person shooter game-play with intense warfare sequences and stunning locations, Modern Warfare 1 literally had me holding my breath at many times throughout the game. But that was only a taste of what Call of Duty had in store for us. The release of Modern Warfare 2 saw history in the making, as the game became the highest selling game of all time, with combined sales of PS3 and XBOX 360. Modern Warfare 2 made the Call of Duty franchise literally, "Untouchable". The fan-base of the game expanded rapidly and the game was all over the place. Combining the most intense warfare sequences with the most realistic and authentic first person shooter game-play Modern Warfare 2 became the most talked about and recognized game of its genre, receiving ratings of no less than 90% by critics.
