I came to Passengers cold, with little in the way of preconceptions, and was pleased to find a film which drip-fed information to its audience all the way through, so that you were never quite sure about where it was going.
For that reason, it was also pleasing to note how it jumped back and forth between genres - or, rather, how the viewer was forced to keep changing the genre he thought it fitted in.
All the cast were good, with Hathaway in particular coping well with a difficult role.
The plane crash was very well executed.
