Freeway Killer (2010 Video)

Better than most serial killer films...
28 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
While not the best film of its kind, Freeway Killer is better than most serial killer films. Despite being a fairly violent movie, some of the more disturbing things were left out. William Bonin was much more violent in real life. The torturing and raping was completely ignored. I think this part of Bonin's rampage could have added a new, darker and more disturbing feel to the film. Not that it's not already a disturbing film, but Bonin's character (played by Scott Leet) could have been developed to show the true monster he really was. Not all Bonin's victims willingly got in his van, some of them were forced, something the film never shows either. In spite of what I consider "character flaws," Freeway Killer is an above average film based on real life serial killer William Bonin and a couple of his male accomplices. It kept me entertained enough to watch all the way through, which is better than I can say most movies do nowadays. 6*'s out of 10.
