This is a film that challenges the stereotypes we are normally presented with when dealing with circus-people or other (generally despised) minorities. The actors may not be professionals but this adds to the honesty and openness of their performances; and the naturalness of the very young child is captivating. This is a story that charms and provides a much more real view of people living at the margins of society than films normal do. A very humane and human feature. Do yourself a favour and catch it at the earliest opportunity, especially if you normally enjoy films by Directors such as the Dardenne brothers, Ken Loach and those masters who know the true value of human nature.
