Revolutionary? No. But definitely not awful either.

This movie has received quite a bashing so far on this site, but I actually found it surprisingly good. OK, it isn't redefining the Zombie-Genre but there are some nice ideas and some unusual characters in this one. I also liked the setting - somewhere in the German East, I think. Most of the time the problem with this kind of movie is that you don't really care who dies and who doesn't because the characters are so lame but I didn't think so here. I read in one comment that the Zombies are slow and that this is a problem. Maybe this person is forgetting that lightning-fast undead people haven't been around for such a long time, not before 28 Days later if I recall correctly. And actually I never thought this to be such a spectacular idea. Anyway: I agree about not putting it on the same level as the mentioned film or Dawn of the Dead. But it's definitely worth having a beer and some chips and spending 90 minutes on it. Beats the Resident Evil Series if you ask me...;-)Oh and by the way...I saw the thing in Dortmund on the Fantasy Film Fest and there was no booing there...
