I can't really say as to why this one stands out more for me than the other Bugs & Sam team ups,except to say that it's just absolutely funny!
Right after Bugs gets on the plane and is joined moments later by Sam,who just robbed a bank,you know Bugs is going to do his usual best to outsmart him. He doesn't even have to say he's going to stop him because the character of Bugs Bunny was written so well...it goes without saying.
Bugs,almost always,remains smart and cool about what's happening and knows that the person he's dealing with is easy to fool. Sam's not as dense as Elmer Fudd but much more like Daffy Duck who let's himself get frustrated and accidentally caught up in Bugs' mind game.
Funny moments are :
After Sam has forced Bugs to fly the plane & help him escape,Bugs flies it like a maniac and bounces Sam all over the place. The plane starts to go down and Sam's freaking out that they're going to crash.
Bugs is calmly reading a book on "How To Fly A Plane" and Sam yells at him to "read faster or I'll blow your head off!" Bugs closes the book and says simply,"I refuse to look up any more reference because you talked mean to me...say you're sorry." After saying no,then finally apologizing twice (second time with "sugar on it",Bugs saves them.
Later Sam jumps out of the plane and escapes (so he thinks) with his loot because now it's going down for real! He unfortunately parachutes into the back of a police car! Back to Bugs who pulls on the break as hard as he can and brings the plane to a complete halt...hovering inches above the ground. "Air" breaks! LOL! Always a funny & exciting ending,for just a 7 to 8 minute cartoon. 10 stars.
The only funnier Bugs Bunny cartoon is he,Daffy & Elmer and the "Duck Season~Rabbit Season" bit.
