Several Famous Stories Come To Mind Watching This One
18 April 2008
This episode reminded me of several movies in addition, of course, to the famous poem where "Tyger, Tyger" comes from and is recited at the opening and closing of this show. It had a storyline much like "The Island Of Lost Souls" which was remade into "The Island Of Dr. Moreau." It's all about a doctor who fiddles with genetics to create animal-man creatures. That's what happens here and Batman gets involved when Salina Kyle ("Catwoman") becomes the latest experiment of Dr. Emile Dorian.

This episode also has a touch of the 1932 classic "The Most Dangerous Game" where a subject is let loose and is hunted by someone far more dangerous.

Whatever, the main protagonists are the doctor, his pet project "Tygrus" and Batman. How Batman tames the tiger and saves his girl, you'll have to watch; I'll won't spoil it. It's a decent episode, nothing super, to be honest about it. I think the Batman animated shows, so far, have been either the urban-setting crime stories or the humorous Joker tales.
