Mediocre and Short Lived.
6 January 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I recall watching this show on Saturday mornings in 1982. After sharing the spotlight with Richie Rich in 1980 and I guess 1981, Scooby shares his hour with some cartoon called the Puppy's New/Further/Great Adventures (Whatever!) I didn't care for it and choose not to comment on that portion. As for Scooby, this was one of the more mediocre and more forgettable shows.

Again, it's just Shaggy, Scooby, and Scrappy in only 2 episodes. Sometimes, they attempted to solve mysteries by working for Shaggy's unseen Uncle Fearless Detective Agency and other times, it was more like the funny shorts of 1980. The third short was something most deplorable. The moronic writers decided to put Scrappy Doo with another canine Uncle named Yabba Doo who was braver than Scooby and Yabba was owned by a Shaggylike character named Deputy Dusty. I'd forgotten his name until I found it on a Scooby website.

I'm sorry, but this series is so pitiful, that apparently, Hanna Barbera removed these shows and wisely changed the name to the Scooby Doo Puppy Hour and reinserted the classic shows from 1969-1970 and some of the episodes from 1976.

This show is bad, but not as bad as what is to come several years down the road.
