Godzilla has a taste for Lobster
20 May 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I've seen almost all of Godzilla's films. This has to be the lamest giant monster out of all his foes. A giant Lobster? I wonder what the market price would be. The focus of the movie is the rescue of a tribe of natives from Infant island-the home of Mothra. The battles between Godzilla and Ebirah are comical. The miniatures are excellent as usual, the dubbing is decent and the overall story is good. The monster just doesn't present a legitimate threat to Godzilla. The plot is about a young man who steals a boat to find his brother who is missing. On the boat is a bank robber. A storm strands the young man, his friends and the bank robber on an island which is inhabited by an evil army developing atomic weapons. When leaving the island to and from Infant island(to capture slaves), a yellow liquid is used as a repellent to protect them against Ebirah. At the end of the movie, Ebirah is defeated and Godzilla escapes the island before an atomic bomb is exploded. If you're a Godzilla fan, it's an OK movie. If not, pass on it.
